Hi everyone, 🙂
its good to hear everyon is doing well in their tests. I have a problem and maybe someone can seriously help. I'm having a really heard time with reading, and it seems even after practicing i've made no real improvement. so is there any tips?!?! Ive been practicing kaplan method but the only problem i have is.. am i intended to read the entire passage, or just read the first few sentences of each paragraph, formuate a topic, and just rush through the rest. I find that writing keywords takes alot of time. i also read somewhere that while skimming, you should not be reading it out loud in your mind... i need some clearification my test is coming up.... also if anyone knows tips for top front end, it would be deeply apprecited. 🙁

I read the question first and then started reading the passage. When I got to the answer I went to the next question and kept reading. It worked pretty well for me. I didn't take KAPLAN though, so I'm not familiar with that method.

I try the Kaplan reading method the first time i took the DAT, I didn't do so well. I thought it took too long just to make the roadmaps, and it definitely distracted me from the main ideas of the passage.

The second time I took the DAT, I read the passage one time through first, then look at the overall structure of the passage and did the questions. I ended up doing a lot better than using the Kaplan method. For me, I think understanding the main idea of the passages are more important than writing the keywords, which was clearly a distraction. That's my opinion on the KAPLAN method.
