I know this long to read but any advice would be greatly appreciated,

I need 4 more semesters to finish my Biochem degree and will apply for pharmacy school. I love science and I would like to be accepted to pharmacy school. However, my current gpa is 3.0 and science/math gpa is 2.7.

The only grades that bring me down are chem 1 in which I got a D the first time but retook it and got a B+. Also physics which I got a D+ retook it but dropped it and got a W (I'm planning to take phys 1 & 2 in a community college). The only C's I have are from orgo chem 2 and calculus 1, as well as 3 labs (orgo 1/2 and microbiology). As for all other prereqs I have A's and B's. Will physics look bad in my transcript since I took it twice and didn't get a good grade?

Also, I don't have any volunteer hours since I help my parents pay bills since were from a low income family, but I do have 4 yrs of work experience in retail including 2 yrs of working at walgreens. What should I do to raise my chances of getting accepted to a pharmacy school in Texas? Would raising my gpa, getting a high pcat and volunteer help? Im also planning to get certified as a pharmacy tech, will that also help?

Bad grades esp. for science classes, unfortunately, will look bad on your application.

I also think that you should retake Physics at your school or other university and not at a community college if you could (given the stigma that community colleges have lower academic standards compared to 4-year universities). But if you have to take them again at a CC, better grades you got recently in your physics classes are certainly better than bad grades from the past.

Also, the admission committee probably would like to see a upward progression in your academic performance. Anything you can do to help them to see that would be helpful to improve your chance of admission.
