Hello, are there any OTs or new grads that are comfortable with sharing their starting OT salary working in California? I know there are websites like otsalary.com, indeed, ZipRecruiter, that shares some data (states starting 80-85k) but I was a little shocked when I spoke with a couple of OT friends who live in orange county and most said that starting pay was around 60-70k . I understand that it varies by what setting and location but I am just curious and want to know what to expect as a new grad! Since OT field is getting more saturated I'm worried if pay actually gets better overtime?

California - May 2021 OEWS State Occupational Employment and Wage Estimates
New graduate OT was able to make the same amount as me who has been working for 5 years as a nonpublic agency contracted to school. I definitely used it to leverage for my bump in compensation. The hourly rate is mid 50s which sounds high but still not a truly livable wage in San Francisco Bay Area. School only works 180-185 days a week.
