I'm applying for about 12 programs in neurology, 26 programs in prelim medicine.

In some cities, I'm applying to 4 prelim medicine programs. Everyone I talk to is like "yeah, you should do that to maximize your chances!"
What I'm wondering is "how on earth will I manage 3-4 prelim interviews + 1 neuro interview in a single visit?" Of course, this is assuming I get interviews at all these places, and maybe I'm being overly confident.

But I really don't want to make multiple visits just to interview at more prelim programs. Plus, word on the street is you never attend all your interviews because of interview fatigue, and I feel like I am setting myself up for that.

Am I just being whiny, or is it wise to cut down on my number of prelim apps?
Do people have suggestions for how to manage multiple interviews in the same city/same date range? Can it be done?

.

Bear in mind that an application won't equal an interview. Many people have to apply to twenty places to net ten interviews, or some other similar ratio. Until you get the interviews, you have nothing to turn down. But bottom line, you are going to have to go on enough interviews to give yourself solid odds of an acceptance. And since it totally depends on you, your credentials, and where you are applying, folks online can't really advise you as to how many is enough. But don't start cancelling all those interviews before you get them.
