Hey guys ! I have 2 questions;

How does scoring work regarding how many questions you get right/ the total score for your section?

I was looking at the scoring key and it said something like 26 right out of 30 is a score of 20? How is that possible? So 4 wrong and you're already down to a 20 on the gen chem section?

Also, how representative is the 2007 ADA practice exam to the real thing?

Yeah, 4 wrong in gen chem and you're at a 20. That grading scheme is probably similar to the actual DAT grading scheme.

I would say the 2007 sample is not representative of the real dat. I got a 28TS on that sample, and I obviously did not get that on the real dat. Check the paid 2009 version, I haven't taken it yet, but I've heard it's more representative than the 2007 version.

Thats crazy.... how in the world do people get only 1-2 wrong on these sections to get 21 + ? .... Jeez...

Don't stress yourself over that too much. Most schools only require you to have 19AA, so there are a lot of room for mistakes.

All you can do is prepare the best you can and pray that you studied the right materials for the test.

Well I wouldnt say "a lot of room for mistakes", 4 wrong out of 30 means you need to be on your game!

I meant a lot more room for mistakes.
A 19 GC, judging from the 2007 ADA test, can be achieved with 24/30.
You have the opportunity to miss 6 questions and still be in decent shape for dental school was the point I was trying to get across.

👍
I also thought the 2007 sciences were very easy

It is really messed up man...and people here keep scoring 28+

People here aren't a good representative of the average person taking the DAT. Also, 26/30 is 86.67% of the questions right. You have made that on a test before right? haha. Just try to keep it in perspective. It gets overwhelming when you start telling yourself you can only miss a set number of questions.
