What's the difference between shadowing and internship? Which is preferred by dental schools? Which is harder to obtain? Is it possible for a highschooler to obtain an internship?

These two things are entirely different experiences and so are looked at in entirely different ways by dental schools, although either will likely help you in the admissions process. High school students are eligible for both. Try a google search for famous interns, then try one for famous shadows. This should resolve any lingering ambiguity.

You follow people like this around and watch them work.

I guess I've been shadowing the wrong people

Agreed - I would like to give her a good filling. If she has a cavity 😀.

Can someone show me a good picture of what an internship is? That would be helpful lol

An intern seem pretty straight-on but as seen here.

We are looking for upbeat, smart and happy interns to help put moar cheez on the burgers — so to speak. The intern will work on our social marketing, help fulfill t-shirt sales, answer emails from totally random people, bathe Happy Cat (j/k!) and fill in where needed.
Requirements:
* Deep and wide-ranging understanding of popular culture (TV, intertubes, geek, movies, music, games, anime, news&#8230😉
* Awsumness. 0.00012 or higher on the Chuck Norris scale.
