Hey guys! So I'm going to have to reapply this year since I didn't get any good news from ant dental school last year. Here are my stats:

Overall GPA: 3.3ish
Science GPA: 3.1ish
(Not sure what the exact GPA's are because they haven't been calculated, but I did a post bacc over this past year and got all A's in 30 units worth of upper division science courses)

DAT: AA 20 TS 20 PAT 19

I worked in a research lab this past year, and kept up with my dental work at the office. Also, starting in the fall, I'm going to start a SMP to keep improving my chances of getting in.

What do you guys think my chances are this time around?
And what schools should I apply to?

Thanks for the input!

Did you try to find out why the schools rejected you last year? If yes, have you improved the areas wanted you to work on?
If you're submitting the same exact application as last year, then most likely you're chances will be the same. However, if the only weak point of your application last year was a low GPA and you've improved that by applying for the post bcc program, then you'll probably have better chances this time (although 3.1ish is still somewhat low). Obviously, you shouldn't worry too much about your DAT scores. Which schools do you have in mind? Try to apply to schools that don't focus heavily on GPA.

Pretty much all the schools said that I need to work on my GPA and that was the main weak point of my application last year. However, I improved it a bit and will continue improving it, since I am still taking classes and will be starting a master's program soon. But I've kept up with my dental internship and now I have one year of research as well (it's what I did during the past year along with taking classes). A lot of the schools said that I really don't need to retake the DATs unless I'm confident that I will do better. I'm going to study for them in case I decide to retake, but what do you guys think? Will these improvements help my chances this time around?
