Reapplicant for TMDSAS! What do you think?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Im not one to be well versed in "what are my chances" topics, but from what I have heard, a 17 RC is not very good. Your GPA is actually pretty much like mine, not great but not bad either. One thing I know for sure will improve your chances is applying BROADLY!!!! I would say at least 15 schools. Also a killer personal statement will help enormously in your case as well. Whats your PAT score?

So what is your actual scores?

You're being kind of weird...
PocketRocket asked for OP's PAT score, and he answered that it's 19...
Why are you questioning his scores?

Whoops! I read the post quite quickly. I saw that pocket rockets asked about reading, but didn't read the last sentence. I thought he was correcting his reading score.

That makes sense now! Thanks!

To answer OP's question, I believe you have a decent shot into one of the Texas schools. This time you are applying much earlier.

Lol what was you RC score? 😉

You do not claim to have done anything since the last application cycle to improve your appeal, but you believe that there is going to be magic by applying "early".

what is taking so long on your application? if you applied last year most of your info should already be there. submit asap!
ideally you should ask all your letter writers for an updated letter. using the same exact letters will be a red flag esp for the texas schools.

Hey guys, I'm new to SDN and I wanted to know my chances as a reapplicant. I am a graduate from UT Austin and I am submitting my application next week, hopefully June. 15. I am using the same rec letters as last cycle for professors, but an updated rec letter from my dentist. I have 800 Hrs+ shadowing, 1000 Hrs+ working as a dental assistant, 400+ volunteering hours. I got a AA: 20 on my DAT. TS: 22 GC: 21, OC: 25, BIO: 21 QR: 16 RC: 17. My GPA is a 3.43 oGPA, 3.29 sGPA. I did not receive any interview invites last cycle, but I applied in September and only to the 3 Texas schools. Will applying 2 months earlier make a big difference? and what else can I do to make myself more competitive/ how are my chances with my stats?
Thanks everyone and good luck with applications! 🙂
How has your app changed since last year?

I have done a lot of volunteering and working full time at a dental office on my off year. And I could not get my letters updated because I graduated.

You can still ask your professors to update your letter of rec.
