I will be reapply next year (my reading and math score hindered me getting accepted this year).
My question is how do you approach professor to ask for the letter again? I kinda feel embarrass to say that i got rejected and need to apply again 😳.

Hi, if you feel embarrassed, don't come to him IF you have some more choices among LORs.
If want that LOR, just approach him/her and say the truth, and then he/she may just e-mail it (they always have copies of LORs). It should not be your barrier in applying. More important barrir is to ace DAT, in which I sincerely wish you to do that.
Good luck.

Thanks chesnut! I really learned my lesson this year. Good luck in dschool

I reapplied and didnt get rewrites ... I just reused the letters that were in my pre-dental folder. I submitted only new letters to show that I was still "after it". There is no shame in asking for rewrites if necessary and as Chesnok said they usually keep them on file and can simply change the date, add comments, etc. I would also suggest applying to more schools next time around ... I applied to 5 the first year and 19 the second time around. GL!

I'm guessing your school doesn't have a predent advisor/committee that retains all of your LORs. Well, if this is the case, then don't worry, your professors most likely will have a copy of it on their computer ready to go. And don't be ashamed to go back to them. Own up to your "mistakes" and tell them the truth. More than often, professors are understanding of your situation.

wow that's neat. I graduated from a Canadian university, and unfortuantely, we dont' have such thing as pre-health committees up here. What's worse, msot of schools here have their own reference forms. So when I applied to 3 cdn dental schools and 1 master's program, I had to ask my professors at least 4 times. I guess there's no shame in reapplying, but it inevitably makes me feel like an incompeteent applicant 🙁
