Hello! My Last cycle definitely did not go as expected but I think i've made a much more holistic application this time. I think im research heavy, but I just needed some guidance on where to go. Last time I applied to almost 40 MD but recieved 0 II, so i'm hoping to be a bit more successful now.

I think know where I went wrong last time, and it came from having 0 clinical volunteering or clinical hours at all 😳

I would really appreciate any advice coming in.

Background Info:
3.7 cGPA, 3.8 sGPA, BS in Mechanical Engineering
521 MCAT
ORM, IL Residency

Research Exp: 2000+ Hr in Basic Science lab, 1 pub, 7 presentations at national conferences, 1 award, very strong letter of rec
Clinical Exp: 300+ Hr as an MA, continuing through gap year, 700 Hr as a dental assistant
Shadowing: 150+ Hrs with various specialties
Volunteering: 100 Hr Clinical in hospital, 200 Hr medical mentoring organization I founded for incoming students, 50+ Hr with a food pantry, 50+ Hours as a tutor for my university
Extras: 100+ Hours on the schools racing team, 100+ hours inventing and patenting a new device I plan to bring to market

Im currently planning to apply to:
UChicago, Northwestern, Stanford, Case Western, UPitt, Brown, Michigan, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Illinois, Colorado, Einstein, Dartmouth, UIC, Rush, Loyola, Rosalind Franklin, Temple, Drexel, Nova Southeastern, and Penn State.

If anyone has suggestions or tips for me I would greatly appreciate it. Let me know if you see any glaring holes or things im missing.

You need another 100+ hours at the food pantry before you submit your application. Some schools screen at 150 hours for nonclinical volunteering (not including mentoring/tutoring). Rush and Loyola are looking for applicants with many hundreds or thousands of hours of non clinical volunteering. I suggest these schools with your stats:
UIC
Rosalind Franklin
Northwestern
Carle Illinois (you fit their profile)
Iowa
Western Michigan
U Michigan
Washington University (almost a guaranteed interview with your stats)
Vanderbilt
TCU
USF Morsani
Miami
Duke
U Virginia
George Washington
Cincinnati
Ohio State
Temple
Drexel
Jefferson
Pittsburgh
Hofstra
Einstein (free tuition)
Mount Sinai
New York Medical College
Rochester
Vermont
Dartmouth
Brown
Tufts
Boston University
UMass
Arizona (Phoenix)
Arizona State University School of Medicine and Advanced Medical Engineering (when it opens)
Colorado
