Hi there,

I would need some advice as a reapplicant.
I am a California resident and I applied 2 years ago only to California schools. Before I submitted my AMCAS, I had a green card interview and I got approved (INS stamped my passport with the stamp that said that I was approved for green card). Then I decided to submitt my application for medical school. I got secondaries back from all of the UCs, filed those. Then UCs asked for copy of my green card. But my green card was late, I got it in January, instead of getting in September. The UCs did not accept a copy from the passport. So they dismissed my application and then I got home rejection letters.
Now that I am a reapplicant, I see that many schools ask if you ever applied to any medical school. And I have to say "yes" of course. But somehow it looks bad, since my application for the UCs never went through because my green card was missing from the file.
Should I call the schools and try to explain this, or just leave it the way it is?
Maybe I am considering this question more important than it actually is.

Thanks

Did you get accepted to UC?

Either way, if you went as far as complete a secondary for the schools then you are an applicant.

My first time applying, I submitted my AMCAS but I withdrew my application (written letter to AMCAS) a week after I got my MCAT score. Then I had to call each school to tell them NOT to process my primary application. For the schools that hadn't processed my application, I didn't mark my status as a "reapplicant".

If they "dismissed" your application, you might want to call them and ask what you should put. If it wasn't processed/reviewed, in my book, then you are a first time applicant.
