Hi everyone! I am preparing to reapply as the only interview I have received has become a waitlist, although I know there is always some possibility I can get in. Last year, I had an M1 review my personal statement but would be open to improving it for the next application cycle because I'm lowkey cringing rereading it after its been 8 months. Also need advice on my activities sections, please let me know if you are open to looking over it!
For insight to my application 3.61 gpa 3.44 sGPA (my college gpa was a 3.72 but unfortunately AMCAS included a course I took for CCP in high school).
Research: 800 hours 2 years in an Alzheimer's lab with one poster presentation (no pubs)
Volunteering:
- 100 hours as a hospital volunteer, surgical visitors lounge
- 250 hours (including gap year) volunteering with referrals at a free clinic. I have had leadership position with for 3 years there.
- 75 hours clinical volunteering trip to the Dominican Republic (also leadership as I was the trip lead who helped plan the trip)
- 200 hours crisis text line volunteer
- 50 hours volunteering at ESL after school program (new gap year activity)
Clinical Experience
- 1400 hours as a Patient Care Technician on stepdown unit
- 800 hours as a Patient Care Associate on a med-surg oncology unit
Leadership
- 2 leadership positions besides those listed above as VP and secretary
Shadowing

Overall my plan is to retake the MCAT, shadow a DO in the coming months and apply early but I'm wondering if anything was wrong with my writing?
