Hi everyone! I am preparing to reapply as the only interview I have received has become a waitlist, although I know there is always some possibility I can get in. Last year, I had an M1 review my personal statement but would be open to improving it for the next application cycle because I'm lowkey cringing rereading it after its been 8 months. Also need advice on my activities sections, please let me know if you are open to looking over it!

Overall my plan is to retake the MCAT, shadow a DO in the coming months and apply early but I'm wondering if anything was wrong with my writing?

Please provide the header information in the template:
Regarding GPA, we advise everyone who enters the application process to calculate their application GPA to understand how dual enrollment or repeated courses affect the overall calculation.

We can't tell you what's wrong with your writing as we cannot access your application. There is an abundance of advice on writing personal statements. What do you think is wrong with it?

Did you forget to include your MCAT score? Having that along with your school list can help with a lot.
I don't think you need more shadowing. Try to get more patient care time. Also throw a hobby or two on there, it lets admissions know you're human and makes the start of interviews easier as a lot of people ask about interesting hobbies/activities.

Hey! My MCAT was a 505 on my last application cycle and i’m going to be retaking. And I’ll have ~3000 patient care hours by the time I apply with my two PCA jobs

Biggest focus over the next few months should be to kill your MCAT. That is the biggest factor holding your application back imo. Don't know when you are taking, but if it is close to when you would apply make sure to sill submit early. Use the throwaway school method to make sure you still submit on time to not have to worry about the verification queue.

Apply to one school you will apply to no matter what score you got on your MCAT (ie the school you interviewed at). Submit your AMCAS with that school and no others as soon as you can to get into the verification queue. Then, when you get your score back you can finish making your school list with your updated score and add them to the application which will hopefully be fully verified. This way, when you resubmit you don't need to be verified again and get to skip the line, so your primary should be completely ready to be sent to schools on the first day AMCAS does.
