Reapplicants : noticed a decreased space for PS in AMCAS?

I am getting my app ready to re submit and noticed that part of my saved PS has been chopped off due to exceeding word count. Has anyone else experienced this?

Nope. The character counts for applications are pretty finicky though, so if you add a space or something inadvertently it'll start chopping off your PS

Well that is scary.. Most of the last paragraph of my personal statement was chopped off when I first signed back in to begin my new app. There is no way I did not notice that.. geeze.

What is the max word count?

5300 both years. Cant figure out what happened there.

even when i transferred from a txt file to AMCAS, the 5300 limit is shorter than 5300 counted by MS Word

from what I can tell, every time you start a new line, that counts as 2 characters. i had to cut out a few words to fit mine.
