Need more shadowing, and lacking nonclinical volunteering is lethal. Get 30 hrs of the former and >200 of the latter.

I do not think that Northwestern is a school that rewards reinvention, ditto U U Chicago or NYU.

Take a gap year and fill those holes.

Rewrite all essays and have multiple eyeballs vet them

You need more mid tier schools like Drexel and Albany. I applied with a 3.6 GPA and a high MCAT. Definitely hurt me. EDIT: Most accepted students have a 3.7 so you are below average.

In other words, congrats on the 526 but don't count on it launching you to Columbia. Even at like Vermont and Stonybrook I saw candidates with crazy ECs like starting businesses and charities. You're not quite there. Good enough for med school for sure! But you're going toe to toe with some amazing people.
