this is probably a silly question, but is it possible to reapply to dental school while already a D1 student? at this point, i've only been accepted to one school, and i dont think ill enjoy it much. so can i reapply and hope to get into a different program for the following year?

u r stupid.

why waste moNey oN tuitioN...... stupid. just hope you get iN somewhere else later i guess... deNtal school will be deNtal school.

There are literally thousands of people waiting for your spot. A DDS is a DDS wherever you get it but if you really hate that school so much, I'd say give that precious seat over to someone else instead of wasting it by dropping out after D1. Take a year off, retake DATs, and maybe some post-bac courses. Besides, I highly doubt any dental school will accept you after you already dropped out from one.

Excuse me if I sound rude, but the lack of appreciation here is astounding. Reminds me of the kids that cry and complain about getting an Acura when they asked for a Mercedes.

I agree with all above but once you become a D1 if you discover that you are miserable the next step would be transferring ... not reapplying. As someone who was forced to reapply this year as I didnt get in last year ... please be extremely happy and excited that you were accepted and dont have to wait a year to reapply!

you are fortunate to get into dental school because getting accepted this cycle has not been this competive in a long time. Not everyone can get what they want, so you should be thankful that you're at least going somewhere. I wish I could have gotten accepted into my top choice, which is half the class size and 70,000 cheaper than the school I will be attending this fall, but sometimes the dice doesn't roll in your favor.

I agree. Too bad transferring is tough unless you have a real reason.

If you don't think you'll like being there, why'd you even apply there in the first place??

You're going to be way too busy to in dental school to reapply anywhere else. There's no way you're going to convince your D1 professors to write you an LOR for another school! Plus you're not going to have time to shadow anyone during the week, skip classes for interviews, etc. It's a silly idea. Just be happy you're finally realizing your dreams!

Can we close threads like these. This is in no way constructive for other predents... useless.
