I am considering reapplying after matriculating for the 2029 class. I was wondering what the thoughts about it are.

I just miss being in a big city, and the diversity of the school. I also am experiencing a lot of racism and downplaying of it. I feel like the school isn't providing great support, and I feel like I am loosing my soul in medicine. I would rather reapply and take my chances at one of the DO schools I got waitlisted at then spend another year and a half here, since I know I risk developing another depression. How bad would it look if I did that?

Hey, I’m sorry to hear that you’re going through this. I think that your best option is to talk to someone about this who can help address the negative effects that this situation is causing on your mental health (i.e., a therapist).

Are you saying that you’re currently at a medical school, would withdraw, then reapply to go to another school? What year are you? How much debt, if any, are you in? There’s a lot of context missing here, but the most important thing is addressing how it’s making you feel.

I can't recommend this.

Seek out your school's counseling center, or student services. This is NOT giving medical advice!

Log all instances of racist behavior and complain all the way up the chain of command. I'm sorry that you're going though this.
