So I'm on 3 waitlists: NYMC, Wake and Tulane. I hope to get accepted, but I'm figuring my chances are pretty slim so I'm preparing to reapply this June (the 1st of course). I think maybe my late application prevented me from getting in somewhere this year since my AMCAS wasn't verified until the end of August. What do you guys think, will the extra 11 weeks really help that much? My stats are: 30Q MCAT, 3.65 GPA, 3.7BCPM- I'm pretty average, so I'm thinking I'll apply to 20 or more schools this time. Also, should I change a lot about my primary personal statement or leave it pretty much as is? Can I expect to interview at the same schools or is it going to be a crapshoot again? Thanks.

Your numbers sound good. Do you have any clinical/research experience?

Yeah, I have 2 years on campus research (published acknowledgment in "Nature"), and I worked as a research technician for 4 years (2 summers) for a logging company. I have also volunteered at 2 ER's and I'm an EMT-B.

Hello,

I'm new to The Student Doctor Network. I have a question regarding admission to medical school for January 2006 in the United States. Do any of you know which medical schools in the United States admit entering students for the Winter session, or in this case January 2006? I don't want to wait an extra year for admission, so I thought I'd ask. I would really appreciate any information that can be provided in reference to my question. 🙂

Thanks.
You'll probably want to make a new thread with your question and not in the reapplying forum. Ask in the Pre-Allo forum. But my understanding is that almost all med students matriculate in the fall (July, Aug, Sept).
