Hello,

I am looking for advice, and I am not really interested in backlash or aggressive comments please.

Before you read, I want to say I am very grateful for my acceptance, and I have learned that reapplying when you have an acceptance can make you come off as unreliable etc. However, I recently spoke to a residency director who did advise me to reapply, given that attending this school is very expensive (without the option for federal loans too) and could limit where I go and what I do for residency. I am a non-trad so I have been going through this process on my own, and it has been a learning process, so unfortunately I was not aware about all these specific details all along. My initial intentions/plans were "casting my net far." Though, I have become more apprehensive about the school throughout the last year and I am really not sure what to do now.

It is CNU. I have seen on other threads people have advised to reapply if this is the situation, but others have advised absolutely not.
Does anyone have advice as to whether the situation really would be different in the case of this school, or know if the acceptances will even be visible next year with all these new changes?

Thank you.

Definitely reapply if you're competitive, CNU has such a bad rep and they'll probably lose their Kaiser affiliations when Kaiser opens their med school in Pasadena.

A
Turn down CNU and reapply. I dont say that lightly but this is perhaps the only school I would that about
Another interesting point is that I am on two other waitlists right now, and they know I've been accepted to a CA school. I am worried that they will really think I am crazy for not going and I won't have a good chance at them next year. But I suppose I will have to just prepare very good explanations/statements for not going. (These schools I am WL at are east coast so they may not know about CNU's rep)

What would happen when the "have you previously applied or been accepted to medical school" box is checked? Is there a place to explain this situation, or could adcoms easily see that the accept was at CNU? In an interview it would be easy to clear up, I would just worry about it preventing interviews from being granted.
I am wondering the same thing. I feel so conflicted because I am worried about reapplying being "blacklisted" and not getting in anywhere.

You could easily say that you were unaware that this school willfully denied access to federal loans and payback mechanisms to its students.
I can't imagine anyone would fault you.
