I got a 6 on my MCAT verbal recently (28T total), which was a shame considering my diagnostic was a 7, average was a 9, and I got a 10 on AAMC 11's verbal 2 days before the exam. I got a perfect score on the essay, I don't consider myself bad at reading and writing, but I don't think there's any use in asking them to rescore for $60, I don't see how a computer can mess up grading (unlike a scantron reader maybe). Without being able to look at the exam I don't know what I did wrong.
In all reality I just probably had a mindset during the test that allowed me to fall victim to traps; the mindset can be there even after you practice for 3.5 months. From experience, what do you guys think might have happened? Of course it's easier for me to figure that out since I was the one who took it, but I also did read about extremely low verbal scores happening to some people who did well on practices but bad on the real thing. What is the most common cause of this and what can I do to prevent it?
