I thought of another one as I am sitting here sick for the fourth time in about six weeks....We will never have to take a sick day because we will have fantastic, efficient immune systems because our children brought home every pathogen known to human-kind and gave them to us.😀

though i am not a mom i thought i will add here
#15 doctor-moms are better doctors, because they are masters in explaning stuff to patients in simple language without using medical jargon since they have been trained to do so by their 3 year old while answering the series of "why" questions.

Even if we do get sick it won't keep us down, we know how to ignore our own problems to take care of other people!

We also know how to stay calm in emergency or critical situations. We can calmly assess the situation, make a decision, and carry it out. I can't even count how many times I've had to do that, I have two very active little boys🙂

Absolutely!!! Moms don't get sick days! 😀 (BTW, you might want to add another "s" to "assess" cause right now it says "asses" which is something else. lol!)👍 😀

Pretty bold statement that mom's make better doctors.

It was not meant to be bold. It was just meant in good humor to unite all the mothers on SDN who are applying to medical school. Even though it is definitely possible to go to medical school when you have children, it is definitely more difficult. Children change your lives. Most of the people here, even non-mothers, can understand and appreciate this. Being a mother does not automatically equal being a good doctor, but I think that we bring in a different perspective as well as some valuable life experience that will help us to be better doctors one day. 😉
