Hey everyone, I have a question, but I'm really not sure if anyone will be able to answer....

I worked at an Eckerds pharmacy my first 2 years of college. The store was then closed for a couple months and was bought out by CVS (I quit when it first closed b/c I needed another job). A lot of the schools require a recommendation from a pharmacist, but I have no idea how to find or contact the pharmacist I used to work for. I dont even remember his last name, b/c it was like 3 years ago.

Sooo instead I was thinking of shadowing a family member who owns his own pharmacy. He's like my third cousin or something? ...I'm actually not even sure how we're related (I have a huge family lol)...but distantly somehow. I know a lot of schools say "no rec letters from family/friends", but does this include pharmacists?

Any other suggestions if both of these are dead ends?

i would check with schools individually. i already know of one school who won't except the letter. they just don't want a letter from a family member, even if it was a professional setting.

the only thing i can suggest right now is maybe try to shadow a pharmacist and try to explain the situation.

i know this is kind of off topic, but would it be weird to ask a physics prof to write a rec? my orgo prof has a 1 year old and is pregnant and moved away. i didnt really know her, only talked to her face to face like 3 times and im pretty sure she doesnt remember me. on the other hand, my physics prof knows me by name and has helped me individually many times. i will also have him next semester. he is kind of old and crazy though! what do you guys think?? i really need good LOR but i dont think i have any other profs to ask. Do you think we NEED to have atleast one? my counselor told me 1 pharmacy related, 1 prof, and 1 that shows leadership etc. i really dont know who to ask.

Your physics teacher would probably be a good person to ask. You don't want to use your o.chem teacher just because she's chemistry. She'll probably turn you down because she knows nothing about you!
