I had one HORRIBLE semester that REALLY had an impact on my GPA (if removed I would have almost a 3.6 overall instead of a 3.2). Should I recalculated it and enter it in my IA explanation? Or maybe my GPA after I returned to school (3.7)? Or just explain and let admissions notice this themselves?

I wouldn't recalculate it and tell them what you recalculated your GPA to be without that semester. They will be able to see that the one semester is the reason for the low GPA. Actually recalculating and showing them how much higher it would be without that semester seems to be a little too much, and it may be interpreted as trying to make excuses. It would certainly make sense to point out that the one semester was the big cause of the low cumulative GPA and explain why you had a low GPA that semester, but recalculating the GPA is a step too far.
