Received an interview this late - is it worth it to go?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If you don't go, you for sure won't get accepted. Be grateful you have an interview and go.

If I were you I'd go. They probably have a few open spots that have opened since other students declined.

Definitely go. Not even worth contemplating. If you get in this cycle whether its a waitlist spot or not, its going to be alot cheaper than if you have to re-apply next year to a bunch of schools. If you don't get in, at least your have some more interviewing experience and saw what the school is really like.

Dont think twice about it, or be cheap, just GO!

You never know, you might get in from the waitlist. If they're interviewing additional applicants, they think they might need them to fill up their seats so I say you should definitely go.

It kind of sounds like you made up your mind and really don't want to go to UDM and live in Michigan, even though you applied there.I think in general people need to consider their list a little more carefully before they send off their applications.
But anyways, IMO, there is nothing to lose from going to an interview. Best case scenario, you do get in. If you really hate it then you don't have to go. Worst case scenario you don't get in and you're reapplying next year. At least you would know if its worth it to reapply to UDM next year after seeing the school.

GO! if you got the numbers they will take you off the waitlist, but you first must interview there.

You should go to the interview. I interviewed there this cycle late October and the D2 student who gave me a tour said he was interviewed in May and got accepted in August. He was in-state student, but I don't think it would matter since it was a private school. The weather sucks (I'm from LA), but the people there are really nice. It would have been my choice if the school were located in a place with milder weather.

Go! I just got back from an interview this Thursday and was accepted Friday. Even if there is a waitlist. When a school really likes you they will accept you! Go and make an impression.

Congrats!!! which school were u accepted to?

I gave up the prospective of receiving additional interviews.

Then, I got invited to go to a UDM interview. I'm conflicted about if I should go or not.

I'm an out-of-state resident. I would have gone to a UDM interview had it been earlier (February or even March), but it's already April...I know I will probably be interviewing for a waitlist spot. I heard it's a good dental school though so I have nothing against the school. I'm just not sure how I feel about Michigan because I'm somewhat partial to warm weather.

I am not accepted anywhere. =/... Waitlisted at a couple schools.

Applied late. I feel my stats are decent to get accepted (if the competition was earlier), but I worry about my chances since it is later on into the cycle and I have to compete against other people for an acceptance even if I get waitlisted. I don't think my stats will stand out this late on. Is it worth using all this money to go? The pro is that it might be a good experience if I don't get in, and I have experience interviewing at this school for next cycle.

Any advice?

If you are not accepted, why would you not go?
