Today I received my second mcat score back and it dropped by 4 points from a 499 to a 495. I submitted my AMCAS application early and already have my interview with my state school set up for next week on October 10th. The interviewer is supposed to be blinded to my mcat score and gpa before the interview and the school website says they will take the highest mcat score. I have already done alot of preparing for the interview and i really think that my mcat score doesn’t accurately reflect my ability and passion for medicine in the same way that my clinical experiences do. I guess I was posting on here for advice about whether or not the admissions committee will dock points off my application for getting a lower mcat score. thanks.
I would focus on the interview. The committee will see your new MCAT score later. I know that is not much reassurance but do what you can.

If your application has already been scored with high enough points to get you an interview, and as the website states that the highest MCAT is the one they judge by, and because the interview is blinded, then individual adcomm bias will not come into play due to seeing a lower MCAT score. Consider yourself to be on a level playing field as you prepare for the campus visit. It's for you to add to the "points" the admissions committee will see when they take the final vote on your status by having an exemplary interview.

Check the Interview Feedback section of SDN to look for likely questions for that campus. Practice, practice, practice. Be confident. Don't mention the second score.
