Hi,
First post here. I can't find much information regarding the salaries and the outlook in Canada as most threads talk about the US and those regarding Canada are usually old and don't have that many replies.
Can any Canadian student or ODs currently practicing in Canada shed me some light on: How much can an optometrist realistically expect to make when graduating in Canada (a range)? Do salaries increase a lot with experience? Is it easy to find a full-time job after graduating or is the market becoming too saturated? If it matters, I'm would like to practice in Quebec but am open to move into other provinces or rurally if saturation/salary is a serious issue.
Overall, would it be financially worth it if the whole OD degree cost me about $50k including instruments (tuition is really cheap here in Quebec)?
Thank you! 🙂
