Reclaiming an acceptance
Started by sonyuir
Never heard of it happening.Hypothetical question, has anyone ever declined an acceptance to a program for another and then after thinking about things, decided that you made the wrong decision and tried to take back your withdrawal? If you are within time period for the deposit, is this even possible or are you basically out of consideration for good?
You’ve literally got nothing to lose at that point right?! Go for it!

give the student affairs dean a call and see what happens
Let us know what happens, genuinely curious.
I would think not, but couldn't hurt to ask.

If you withdraw they fill that seat right away so it is no longer available. This is why no one should withdraw before the deadline, take your time to make an informed decision. If you miss the deadline they will withdraw you.

You never know, plus depends on when in the cycle it is. Also if your reason is compelling enough, some schools might just save you a seat in next year's class. Probably a case-by-case basis more than anything I'd assume.
No, no, no and just no.You never know, plus depends on when in the cycle it is. Also if your reason is compelling enough, some schools might just save you a seat in next year's class. Probably a case-by-case basis more than anything I'd assume.
I feel for you and your dilemma, but hopefully which ever school you end up at will still be just as good!
I actually know someone who did this.. was admitted to 2 DO schools, chose one away from home but health got in the way and had to stay close to home. They reached out to other school and they gave the acceptance back. Good luck!
No, no, no and just no.
How can you say this with certainty regarding all medical schools?

Health issues are reasonable extenuating circumstances. OP is asking about a change of heart/indecisiveness. I doubt any Med school would offer an acceptance for that. I have heard of someone missing a deposit deadline, calling the school, and keeping their seat though.I actually know someone who did this.. was admitted to 2 DO schools, chose one away from home but health got in the way and had to stay close to home.
