For a college course, I have to write a paper on a book I've read that deals with business. I know nothing about business, and hope to open my own practice one day. I thought this would be a great opportunity to actually learn something that may benefit my future self.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Getting to Yes

Rich Dad, Poor Dad

The Art of The Deal (which no matter your politics, is still a good read)

Purple Cow

Seven Habits of Highly Effective Individuals

Take your pick. All provide great business insight and are mostly enjoyable reading.

ive read "7 habits of highly effective individuals" and it seemed like a pretty broad overview. Do any of the other books you mentioned dive into actual aspects of business? Like the specifics on repaying a loan, managing money, and purchasing large practices?

I didn't realize you were looking for a dentistry-specific book.

The thing with most of these books, is that it either reads smooth, like a novel (broad topics, like you said), or it's a textbook. I haven't truly found a good in-between.

Check out Dental Economics' website. Perhaps they will have some good recommendations.
