I'm concerned about finding good letters of recommendation. Most of the courses that I'm taking are science courses with very limited professor-student interaction. And because I've focused so much on my science courses, I haven't done too well on my humanities courses, where the potential to receive a strong recommendation is much greater. Where have you found your strongest recommendations? What could I do to get good letters of rec from my science courses?

I go to a big university, and there is very limited professor-student interaction in the science classes as well. Nonetheless, I'm getting good letters from two of my sceince professors, because even with the little interaction I've had with them, they understand that it is difficult for deep connectiosn to be built in such a class, and thus they are both meeting me for at least an hour before writing my letter and asking me about my motivations to become a doctor, etc, and other interview questions to get to know me better.

Maybe ask those science teachers, and ask if you oculd meet with them beforehand to talk to them about your ambitions and use it as a chance to let them get to know you better.

All my LORs are from Science professors, or Doctors + one employer. I go to a big University so my pre-med courses had a professor student ratio about 400:1. I gauged which professors were worth the trouble of getting to know or not. Some professors are notorious for giving bad recommendations. Talk to upperclassmen to get this information or ask the professor themselves. To get my other LORs, I TAed a class, and took classes with a small student to teacher ratio. Then I made a point to do really well so to get noticed. You can also try talking to the professors themselves. If they don't know you that well, tell them you are willing to meet up with them a few times to discuss your goals and your achievements. This will give them material to write about. Good Luck :luck:
