What's up SDN. I'm trying to be a good little MS1 and have been reviewing my Anki cards daily. I can imagine that hitting "Good" on hundreds of cards/day over the course of these next two years could do some damage to my spacebar. Does anybody have a recommendation for a good bluetooth controller that syncs well with a MacBook Air? I've found a few on amazon but most are just for taking selfies (didn't know such a thing existed) and my not work well with Mac. I'm not a gamer so I don't need anything fancy, just something reasonable and inexpensive. Thanks in advance for any help.

I know @Kracin brought this up in a thread a few weeks ago.

I actually did this with an 8bitdo controller. I mapped the buttons to to keyboard inputs. I don't think you need anything fancy, spent under $15 bucks I believe. You can even go with a 2.4 ghz connection with a dongle and not worry about bluetooth. I like 8bitdo so much and finally pulled the trigger on their sn30 pro+ for some gaming later.

I do this on a mac with a switch controller sometimes when I get bored of pressing the spacebar.

I've never bought an 8bitdo controller but I've heard good things about them. I think the Zero 2 (which is really portable) is about $20?

You'll probably need a joystick mapper to make the controller to your spacebar. Something like "enjoyable" I would think?

+1 on the 8Bitdo Zero 2

I use Enjoyable (key mapping app for Mac), mapping the four round buttons for difficulty levels on the cards. I also mapped the D-pad for scrolling on long Anki cards and the shoulder buttons to unlock the "hints" sections on Anking cards. This way I'm able to use the controller one-handed and it does basically everything I need it to.

I bought a cheap ergonomic mouse with 6 buttons, I mapped each button to a specific number / spacebar in anki. Was excellent use of money. My impetus was to reduce repetitive use injury that I began to have.
I also have a wired x-box controller that I never quite got used to.
More to your point , xbox controllers are fully compatible with windows. I believ there are ways to make ps4/xbox controllers workable for mac as well.
