So it seems as though you need typically ~5 recommendations max, out of which 2 have to be from science teachers who have taught you.

my question is that is a public health instructor classified as "science"? i am a public health major

what if the professor taught me a course in dept of public health but the course was titled "public health microbiology"? will thiss count as a science rec?

"science" usually means chemistry, biology, physics and mathematics. You take a bunch of pre-reqs with people who teach those subjects so the expectation is that you've had at least 2 instructors who can provide letters.
