What are some good chairs for sitting at a scope all day? Are Aerons or Embodys any good?

Highly subjective. I have a HM Aeron at my research job and I think it's the most uncomfortable chair ever.

Meanwhile, I love my Haworth Zody. Had it at my old post and loved it so much I bought one for my home office.

But yes, generally speaking, HM's are widely regarded as "good." So are Steelcases. Try one out first before you make a purchase.
