BOISE VA MEDICAL CENTER VIA UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON
Technically not a TY but rather a prelim medicine year through the University of Washington...it is actually a nice gig. 6 months of medicine (5 wards/ 1 hospitalist) with Q5 call next year...but wait it gets better...the other 6 months are pretty "light"...(surgery, ER at a private hospital, medicine at a private hospital, and 3 months of electives- whatever you want). The people are nice, the hours are tolerable, the city is fantastic for outdoor activities and very affordable. It is probably not as light as a transitional year but it beats a prelim medicine year in the University setting. I have had no complaints thus far. 🙂
