I am not taking the MCATs yet.
But in the time being to improve VR skills and reading comprehension, I am going to start doing a lot of reading, both scientific and non scientific.

Any suggestions as to what books are good to use for this purpose?

Thanks.

While they're not exactly books, I have seen the following magazines posted on SDN to help with VR:

The New Yorker
The Economist
Scientific American
The Atlantic

Since I haven't been too keen on shelling out the extra cash, I've gone to the websites of these magazines and found lots of free articles. Hope this helps.

at the bottom of this page there is a list of Similar Threads, they have lots of recommendation that you might find helpful.
Also, I agree with PRodulous, those are all fine publications.

Just if I were you, i would do a few verbal passages now to get a feeling of the test and keep that in mind when you read other materials.
