Hi everyone! 🙂

I'm a first year in a Clin Psych program and received a TAship but am not yet involved in research or clinical work at my program.

I eventually want to work at an academic hospital, doing both research and clinical work, and am mainly interested in PTSD/trauma.

Does anyone recommend places/researchers to contact in the NYC area (I'm asking the professors at my school but wanted to know your opinions as well!)?

Thanks!

Check out the world trade center medical monitoring program. Bellevue and Mt. Sinai have a program that provides assessment and treatment to world trade center responders who were affected by 9/11. They both have clinical externships in these programs. I didn't do one myself but have met people that have.

columbia med school should also have a PTSD research program.

Bellevue/NYU also has a program for survivors of torture that offers clinical training.

Thank you both for your help. 🙂 I'll definitely look into those programs!
