With the rest straight A's I doubt one C will be a concern. Hope you're feeling better.

Please do not explain that bad semester. A bad semester is when you get a terrible grade (like a C- or a D), NOT a C. I actually had a semester like that, and although I ended up with a fantastic GPA despite it, I explained it on my app. I think it might have hurt me by drawing undue attention to it. Keep your chin up, and don't look back on this semester, when you are studying for that DAT. Do well on the DAT and if you get a good score, along with your straight As, you will get in. Sounds like you got a great girlfriend to help yo along the way. Good luck.

I agree with the above. First of all, I'm glad you've gotten through that rough patch. Secondly, just don't draw attention to it. That is a "normal" semester for plenty of people, LOL! If it was to be brought up, I'd just politely say that I was going through some difficult personal issues but that everything is currently back on track. I'd end it with a smile and promptly move on. If you don't make it into a big deal, they won't, either! 🙂

Yeahhhhh...

Eh, it's true! Hopefully it's not so typical for many dental/medical school applicants, but I know many of my undergrad peers would have been perfectly satisfied with these grades. 🙂

You have no idea how excited I got when I saw Glimmer1991 posted. Just earlier today I saw a great FAQ thread he posted and thought, "my god, what an amazing guy..."

Thanks for your comments guys, I feel a lot better! Now I can focus all my energy into the DAT and my schoolwork!

LOL! I appreciate it... but goodness, I would be SUPER flamboyant if I was a guy! 😉

Yup. Focus on important stuff. In the grand scheme, this ain't but a blimp on the radar. With all As otherwise, I'm certain your DAT is stellar. 🙂 Get a 20+ on the DAT and you're great!

Oh no, I meant that cause I know what having a semester like that is like 🙂

I got an F one semester, you're fine.

Whenever trying to explain a negative, always make sure you state what you learned and the positives from it.
