Hi everyone,

I just need some advice. I scored 88 on part one and it looks like no one from California is calling me for an interview. New York seems like my final hope, but I am wondering whether I should redo part one in December so I can improve my chances. So this is what I need to know:

1) NYU already has my NDB results. If I re-write the exam and score lower than before, is my old score considered invalid?

2) Should I do the CBT, or the PBT? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each type of exam? I wrote the CBT the first time.

3) Anyone in the Toronto area preparing for part one, please private message me if you are interested in studying together, comparing notes, etc.

Thank you for your assistance everyone. Best of luck in your endeavours.

Maybe you should review your whole application package, because if you look in to the other threads, you see that people with lower NDBE scores got interview calls from California schools. So this is not the main factor, even if it is important...

Thanks for the reply SJ35. One of the problems with my application is that I lack experience, since I am a fresh graduate. This was the feedback I was given by UCLA and UofP. Since I wish to obtain admission next year, I believe the only short-term improvement I can do is re-doing the part one exam. My TOEFL is decent, 257, which I don't believe is worth re-doing and my GPA is 3.50, which cannot be changed. Please give your advice on CBT vs PBT, etc.
