Hi all,

I was going to apply this past cycle, but then decided not to. I had already gotten my reference letters submitted to interfolio.

As you can imagine all 3 letters probably have last years date on them, 2 out of the 3 I can get into contact with to update the year on the letter. However the 3rd letter(a science LOR) is on a sabbatical abroad, and I don't have her non-school email, so there is a strong chance I wont be able to get in touch with her to update the year for the upcoming cylce.

Would that be a big deal, if its dated June 2013, instead of June 2014?

I never applied this cycle, so its not like im reusing LORs either.

Thanks

I applied last year and I used the same letters again this year and got multiple acceptances. I wouldn't recommend having no new letters, but it's possible to get in without new ones. Considering that you haven't used them yet you should be fine.

So they will still be considered "new" even if one of them has last years date? I never submitted to any schools, so no schools have seen them.

Like i said, 2 of them will for sure have the date updated, and as well my DO letter will have this years date. Just that 1 letter will have last years date.

Dude most of my letters dated back to 2010 (including my pre-health committee and science faculty letters). I got accepted this cycle. You're fine.

Although the only school that seemed to have a problem was MSU-COM. The lady specifically told me that my 2010 letters were too old. But that was 1 school. 1 year doesn't make a difference, but I suppose 2 or more does.

I had a LoR from 2009.

You had a LOR dated 2009? Okay then I definitely shouldnt be worried! Thanks 🙂
