idk about the first question. But for the 2nd question you mark it on your sfmatch app (there's a checkbox in the place where you input your LOR writers). Your writers are supposed to put it in a signed and sealed envelope. I'm hoping that's all that is necessary to prove it's confidential.

It can't hurt to ask your letter writers to put that line about confidentiality in, as well as your CAS applicant #.
