Hello

I would just like to inquire if there are any newer materials out comparable to Pocket Podiatrics (3rd) and PI Manual (2nd).

I used Pocket Pod during school but an electronic copy, I can't seem to find the book in print.

I know there are other books out but as it is 2015, is there anything that as a community can be trusted as much as those 2?

The PI Manual updates are free. The following link is to the PDF index of the chapter updates, with links to each file.

ACFAOM has a nice manual that is included with your membership. It is similar to Pocket Pod, but way larger. I wish I had this one when I was in school. It is almost the perfect APMLE study guide.

The Hershey Manual is nice, but the last version I have is out of date. Not sure if there is a newer one published.

Of course, McGlamry's new edition seems to be the most suggested reading, for boards and general review.

Coughlin & Mann's Surgery of the Foot and Ankle is also a very in depth book that focuses on more procedural steps and leaves out alot of the historical reasoning that McGlamry's presents. Easley's Operative Techniques in Foot and Ankle Surgery is also a very in depth procedural book.

I dont think I would call pocket podiatry reliable. Lots of mistakes and relatively superficial knowledge. McGlamrys is kind of a boring read at times but its what our surgical boards are going to be largely based off of. Coughlin and Mann is also a good read but for boards I would chose McGlamry's as thats the primary podiatric text (Though I think C&M is a better book - but were talking boards studying here).
