References/Letters of Recommendation Question

I guess I'm a bit confused on this part of the application. I saw the reference form example on the application manual for PTCAS so I'm wondering if that's all the references will fill out for PTCAS? Or do the references submit letter of recommendations AND fill out the reference form with all the questions? I'm just curious because I would like to know if I should ask them to write a LOR or just to be a reference. Also, if anyone knows, are there any length specifications for the LOR's?

The way I did it for the PTCAS application was I sent each of my four references an electronic invitation to write me a recommendation from PTCAS after I had already contacted them and asked them personally if they'd write one for me. Worked fine and was really efficient.

When asking for a LOR, Make sure to ask for a "positive" LOR. This suggestion was given to me by my in-patient PT.

There is a "notes" section on the bottom of the quantitative section. Some people will fill this portion out while some will not (it's optional). I would suggest finding someone who will take the time to write down a couple of paragraphs highlighting your strengths, dedication to PT and any differentiating attributes. Good luck!

Thank you both for the replies! Definitely cleared it up for me. One last thing though... So basically the "notes" section at the end of the electronic form is the area for the LOR? They don't need to upload a document or anything?

To my knowledge, yes. Can someone who has written an LOR via PTCAS chime in and verify this?
