Hello all,

I would like to know if taking stats classes in 4 different departments (psych, stats, math, and business depts) will be looked down up by adcoms? I did well in these classes B+\A's.

I took these classes because I wanted to make sure I had a rigorous understanding. Even though there was some course overlap, each course built upon each other ( I took an applied stats class that delved more into applying stats to medicine etc and a pure mathematical stats).

Would adcoms look down upon this/view this as a cop out even though that wasn't my intent?

It sounds like your stats classes all taught you stats but then just applied it to different fields.......

The math stats course was more rigorous and delved with the derivations of formulas

The business stats primarily dealt with basic stats and applying them to a business setting : a very superficial understanding

The applied stats focused on applying stats jn a more mathematical and rigorous way (the pre req was an intro to stats course )--I had to take this class to take more advanced stats courses like probability and stochastic processes.

The behavioral stats course was also very basic ( I had to take this for a psych major requirement).

Is this okay? I'm mainly concerned about whether adcoms look down upon this? I also took the former 2 stats because I was told that behavioral stats may not count since it was offered in the psych department.

Your further clarification would be truly appreciated.
