For their letter of recommendations they want it from a pre-professional committee. Can anyone explain to me what the pre-professional committee is? Also, I think the deadline is really close and I can get 3 LOR faster to them than going to a pre-professional committee. By anyone's experience, do they care if I get them the 3 LORs or if I go through the preprofessional committee route?

The pre-med committee is usually a group of pre-med advisors at your undergrad . I had one of my advisors write my LOR and then he passed it around to the other members of the committee to look over and add anything if they wanted. Then he put on some official committee stamp before it was sent. I think instead of the committee letter you can have either two or three letters from regular undergrad professors.

I went the 3 LOR route, and I was accepted at NSU. However, they are VERY particular on the LOR's being 2 science professors and 1 liberal arts professor. Make sure you have that combination if you decide to go that route. Good luck!

In order to get a pre-med committee letter from my school, you need a LOR from a professor, 2 evaluations from other professors, fill out an application similar to AMCAS/AACOMAS, and interview before a committee of 3 members (all full time faculty) that is very similar to a medical school interview. After all that has been completed, then they will write you a letter from the head of the committee and forward it along with the original LOR, and both evaluation forms to the medical schools of your choice.

Some schools don't have a committee. Mine doesn't and they didn't have any problem with me sending in the 2 science + 1 liberal arts LORs (I was accepted). If your school does have a committee, I'm not sure whether or not you have the option of whether to use it or send in 3 separate LORs.
