For those of you who had to cover a unit as primary, did you have any flexibility to see patients in clinic after rounding? how about being primary at multiple rehab units? Wanted to get some insight. Thanks!

Yes just depends on your set up and efficiency. How busy do you want to be. You can round mornings/evenings at IRF and then do clinic the other part of the day. It’s much better if you have a hospitalists covering your unit.

I don’t personally like outpatient that much and having people fill your inbox up with tasks. I am also more efficient with inpatient and can see more patients that way.

Yes you can also work at other IRFs. Just need to not have a non-compete for the location.
