So I've been invited to interview at Case so far and I've been rejected by Nova today and Indiana before. Do they weight more heavily on gpa? I have a low gpa but good DAT like 3.4 and 23 so I'm confused. Or do they take more in state people? Real confidence blow right now since I applied early also.

You got an interview at Case! C'mon, don't feel down on yourself!
if you keep doing this, you might blow your chance with Case! Keep your head up and look forward to your interview!

Nova is a private D-school so they supposedly don't give instate preference. I have a decent GPA and low DAT scores and got rejected from Nova relatively quickly. So I'm assuming with this year's competitive pool, they're looking for the total package (like most schools probably are), so good scores in one area may not make up for something that lacks in another area of your application. Just my two cents...

wow. Im surprised that you got a rejection. your stats are better than mine. are there any other reasons why you think you have been rejected?

I really have no idea other than my low gpa which I figured would be compensated for by my high dat score, but I guess not. They must just be looking for that total package deal. 🙁

Not sure what they're looking for but I have lower GPA, about the same DAT and I got an interview. However, I did have a master's.

Don't worry about one school. You never know what they're looking for. Good luck on the rest of the schools!

you can't just assume that they have rejected you solely based on your GPA and DAT.

Perhaps your PS, reference letters were not very good.
Perhaps you didn't do much EC in comparison to other applicants...

I have a friend who has similar GPA but lower DAT scores than yours who got an interview from Nova.

Just don't get discouraged too much. It's just 1 school out of many.

keep in mind there are well over 3000 applicants to Nova each year, they aren't gonna interview everyone with stats similar to yours. luck of the draw can occur.

our class is at least 50% in-state, I'd say closer to 2/3 in-state. I think they usually have about half in state, but don't quote me on that.

science gpa is 3.3
so clearly low but i thought something or the other might compensate but guess not
and i have tonssss of volunteering research shadowing hours
