Hey everyone,

I'm a long time lurker but I am applying this semester and I just received my first rejection letter from Nova. I know I will get some of these but what hurts the most is that my DAT score was just received by aadsas this morning so they rejected me before they even were able to see it. I was planning on my DAT score to greatly boost my application because of my below average GPA. My gpa is 3.3s 3.4overall and my DATs were 22PAT 19QR RC21 Bio18 gchem20 orgo23 AA20 TS20.

So this leads me to believe that if I waited to submit my secondaries until after my DAT was submitted for them to see I might have had a better shot overall.

Just frustrating that I spent all summer studying and they didn't even take the time to consider my DAT score.

Thanks for reading,

Matthew

I am sorry to hear of your rejection. If it makes you feel better, I have a higher GPA, a DAT 4+ points higher, and have been rejected by 2 of the 5 schools that have responded to me so far.

I have heard Nova really likes people with a ton of biology courses, maybe that is the problem?

Thanks sacapuntas for the support. I'm sure you will get in somewhere with those amazing stats! Keep your head up and I'll do the same. 🙂

It's no good crying over spilled milk. Besides, you would have been rejected anyway even with your new DAT score.

Thanks for whining about your rejection on here,

....by rejected I mean deferred, though I haven't heard of anyone coming off the deferred lists yet...

I believe you need to be a biology major to qualify for nova

I am a chemistry major. Not taken many upper division bio classes, and i got an interview. I believe it has nothing to do with your major. Is something else that they just don't sympathize with. It is mystery, they do really random rejections.

i am too a chemistry major. with only evolution, human physio, genetics, biochem (chem major), and microbiology. Planning to take molecular, cell bio, and endocrinology in spring. I got 20 AA 20TS 21 PAT 16 RC with 3.4 sgpa 3.5 ogpa. I was invited for an interview on 7/24

16 RC and an interview? That's awesome. Expect a PM from me soon. I got a 17 RC and thought it was the end of the world, haha.

I got 18RC and have two interviews so far with the same DAT 21AA 22TS, a higher GPA. YOu will be fine! 👍 Good Luck!

Lol ONLY. I'm a chem major and I took genetics pass/fail and biochem (chem dept). I'm taking human anatomy this fall, but that will probably be pass/fail as well. If you wanted a lot of bio classes be a bio major - or at least a biochem major. I don't see the need to take a pant load of bio courses.

mine is on sept 14. flying in on the 13th and leaving on the 15th

taking A&P 2, micro lab, and psychology in the fall since a lot of dental schools require one or the other.

NOVA is pretty harsh. Just two weeks after it robbed $50 from me for the supplement.... bam a rejection letter.
