What do you guys think will happen.A school requres you to take all pre-req by spring 2006.But you have Bio 1 lab to take .Since you cannot register for any classes ,will you get rejected because of one lab.

Yeah you can get rejected because of one class, but it depend on the school. If the school you wish to go to accepts only spring classes and not summer, then there is a good chance you may be rejected. The reason I know this is because I called a school regarding a class and the admissions person told me that that is what hurts applicants. People apply assuming all their prereqs are satisfied for that school and then get rejected because one class does not and it's too late to take. Some schools actually let you take it in the summer.

Sorry, I meant rejection from the admissions process not when you are already in the program. If a school over looks a course, that's a different story. It may be because you have taken another class that they felt satisfied that requirement. I really don't know what would happen if they find out after you have alreadt started the program, but I would think you get kicked out. Why "there goes $90,000"?

1 year of delayed schooling = 1 year of delayed practice.

That's nice of you ... somebody is trying to work their way into pharmacy school and you say something like that. Real classy.

I'm motivating her to do what she can to get in sooner so as to not waste time and potential income.

I'm sure she appreciates it.

One year is not gonna do much...waste...i dont think so. Life works in mysterious ways. Just because one gets in school before another and finishes first does not mean that their life is any more fulfilling than a person that gets in after. i.e. What is $90000 if you lost the one in your life that means everything? Don't judge life by money.Take one day at a time. Just because you don't get in this year, it's not the end of the world. The world does not revolve around one single person. $90000 is pocket change to the experiences and goodness that comes in your life by other means...

Contact the admissions office and discuss it w/them. They might be flexible on the requirement.

Schools establish policies to suit their tastes/preferences, not yours. Their policies have been published, and if not, it is the applicant's responsibility to ask prior to application submission to find out what those policies are.

It is true that you will forgo that $90k salary for another year, but honestly, finding out their policies PRIOR to your application submission could have save you a lot of heartache.

There are many schools across the US so you have to find the school that suits your situation the best. Just because one school doesn't honor your situation does not mean that the next school will not either.

Sorry to hear about the disappointment but remember to do your homework next time!

yeppers, you have to ask the school. best to do it in person or ask more than one person so they can't say i never said that. i had to go back and take english comp I during the summer cuz my dang undergrad didnt give me credit for it like they were supposed to. pharm school let me take the class and have the prof write a letter with my grade on it to carry me over while they waited for the official transcript. bio lab and comp 1 are easy classes so they might let u slide

Yes, you definately want to contact the school as soon as possible...you don't want to have an acceptance letter and then be denied admission when they receive your final transcripts and see that you are missing a prereq. Speak to at least one person and see that maybe you are able to take it during the summer or even get accepted now, but defer enrollment until Fall 2007 in which you can work for a year, saving money and learning in a pharmacy, and taking only one lab, which should be simple. Good luck!
