hey all...
kinda feeling sad coz i received a rejection letter from u-penn without even called for an interview.i thought my scores aren't that bad to get atleast an interview chance.i got 86% in part 1,GPA - 3.6 (wes),toefl 250 and i have 2yrs of wrk experience back home.i dont have any wrk experience in US.i am already on my way preparing for part 1 again..but i really dont understand thier criteria for interviews..can anyone tell me where i could have gone wrong in my application process..do u think the personal statement also matters in their selection?kindly let me know your views..

NBDI=85, II=84.......very similar to urs.....2 yrs exp in Ind and 6 mo here as DA.........just having my fingers crossed.
I am sure Upenn (from what i heard) looks into more than just the score.......hope so!

I got my rejection within 15 days of applying. My score 89 part 1 and part 2 82. 3.3 ece and 273. 1 yr exp .
Not that this is a low score, people with scores lesser than mine have been selected.
But That doesnt end the world.

Now you tell me who is to blame. i am not disheartened at all. You feel bad when you dont get it, i wish you all the best dont get dishearten its not the only school in US.

u penn does not see the scores only....they check the overall package!they lay more emphasis on work exp.in the US!

yeah!not a minimum of 2 yrs,but a sufficient amount of time is reqd.!they want to see how much time u have spent in the field!....i'm working as a da for the past 1yr 6 months.....not even 2yrs!!.......but i still got a call!thanks 4 the wish and gud luck to u too!

hi every1...this is an adn to ur troop...just registered few mins bac...i m soooo happy to kno that this exists...finally kno my querries ll get solved.....i graduated in aug 05...applyin 4 06..NBDE1..87%..TOEFL;273..GPA:2.8...applied to UPENN n Bu..will apply to UOC very soon..lookin at ur work ex m realllllllllllllllly scared ...i stand a no chance then....coz i just ve two months ex after my coll...guys can u pl tel me do u think of ne otheruniv i should apply as of now to meet the deadlines in the begining of the year(not 4 a 3yr program)...west coast coll all ve deadlines in sept..tat falls later...n pl guide me 4 the interview...what exactly do they ask..general, study per se o wat???ve noclue ppl...n looking at ur profiles n yet not being called 4 the inter..its scarrrrrin me!!!

Hi!I went for interview in November I got accepted but I send my decline form because I am joining UOP.My scores are 87, 3.39, 257 so as you can see they are averge.I worked as a DA in US only for 4 months at that time so it was'nt long.So it is really hard to tell what is that quality that makes cut.

Take a look at this thread regarding upenn..where students have candidly expressed their views about the school....and so many having such great scores and experiences have been rejected by upenn..
so don't lose heart....you will have a MUCH BETTER school waiting for you out there... 👍

Yu have very good stats...the only thing u need is exp. in usa...otherwise u just need to apply!! M sure BU wont disappoint you !! 😀

There are limited spots in the special two or three year programs. Each program looks at more than just grades. The acceptances also depend on the appliciant pool, so qualifications may very each year.

As I often recommend to appliciants I met... instead of wasting 2 or 3 years applying to get into the special programs... it would be easier to get into the regular four year program. Yes, more would be repeat. Yes, it would cost more.... BUT acceptance would be easier and you can start earning more.

I am not too sure that this is necessarily true. People might have to take some undergrad credits. You have to take the DAT. Also there is no chance that you will get in.

The money is the main issue I feel.
