Rejections on or before December 3rd?

I'm wondering if I should brace myself for more rejections this week? Do schools usually give those out along with planning for December 3rd acceptance offers? Kind of a final weeding out....

I've interviewed at 5 schools (and have a couple of post December interviews scheduled too), but I'm curious as to what actually takes place this week and next regarding rejections. I know it most likely varies from school to school, but is there a flurry of rejections coming? (I've received 3 up to this point.)

I got another rejection last week (University of Utah 🙁),

And then just now received another interview invite email (interview for January)!!

What a hellish, torturous roller coaster ride this is.

Hey! I got one from them last week too....sucks to get those emails.

Congrats on your interview invite today! Hopefully that will balance out the sting a bit...😉

Well, it did help of course and I'm really grateful to get any of the invites I received. But, I REALLY wanted to get a chance to interview at U of Utah.

As to your question about rejections specifically ON December 3rd, I'm feeling that if you interviewed at a school prior to December and then don't get an acceptance offer on the 3rd, that's pretty much a rejection (or at least possibly wait listed?).

That's so true. I'll try to stay positive. I just know it'll feel like a rejection

I have to agree with this. I'm sure it's an indicator of something a bit off (lower stats than others who interviewed or maybe not a real strong showing at the interview or a number of other factors), but that doesn't mean there still isn't an acceptance coming after December 3rd.

It's certainly not a positive sign if you interviewed prior to December, and no offer is made on the 3rd....but it's not a definite rejection and not entirely negative either.

All of this is such a crap shoot and plays havoc with the mind!!!

At least we're all in misery together....ha ha. We all understand.
