i submitted my AADSAS application early and have already received 2 rejections from Howard and Midwestern. I am one of THOSE students doing a graduate program because i fooled around in undergrad.

AADSAS recalculated my BCP and Science GPA to be 2.6 which falls below the minimums for most dental schools. My grad school GPA is not raising my AADSAS cumulative GPA because i've taken so many credits in undergrad.

My grad school GPA is 3.22, my DAT scores are AA 20, TS 22, PAT 20. I am doing tons of community service over the summer with Habitat for Humanity, and am also doing a research project within NJ dental school in the fall (part of my grad program curriculum). I have also previously worked in a dental lab.

Are there any schools that are willing to give my application a look? I am worried after these 2 rejection letters i got in the mail (they seemed automated because i didn't have to fill out a secondary), that i will fill out my secondaries and my application will just be scanned for BCP and SCIENCE GPA and will be automatically rejected. What should i do? I have thought about waiting for AADSAS update in december, but i fear it will be too late to land an interview.

lol that sounds funny. wait do you think my question was not legitimate?????
think about it. he obviously didnt get rejected right away because he didnt meet the minimum cut off requirement because their average GPA is 2.7. and Howard is accepts majority of african american is that not true? so that could have been a big factor in what got him a rejection that quick DUHHHHH

for Howard, did you send your fee in on time? i know they only gave a 10 day window to mail it to them. i was out of the country at the time they requested the fee and had to e-mail them to ask for an extension. kind of nerve-wracking!

^i mailed my fee for howard with a fee for another school a looooong time ago and the other school cashed my check waaay back, but howard tells me they still haven't received my fee (when i called and asked)...and there's no way for me to check if they got it b/c it's a money order :\ i'm pretty sure it's been more than 10 days lol. wonder if they got it?

to the OP: maybe check the schools that you applied to and see if they have GPA cut offs. for those that don't, you never know, perhaps they will see something else in your app. people get in all the time with lower GPAs (though it's harder), so don't get yourself too down about it 🙂

Actually, according to ADEA Howard's dental class is only 40 to 50 percent black. Next biggest ethnic group would be Indians. Looking at their class of 2012 picture there are more white guys than asian guys.

I doubt howard rejects on race. Mcharry on the other hand is 95% black so you can draw your own conclusions there.

yes, but from what i've been told, once you send in your fee, if they're not interested in interviewing you, you'll just never hear from them again. not even a rejection. 😕
